Siena, the Strade Bianchi, the rolling foothills of Tuscany. Bella.

I'm heading in June for a week with la famiglia and will be renting a bike for a few days to get out and about in the mornings. Couple of quick 100k spins before a dip in the pool and rehydration with vino. The place we have rented is right on the Strade Bianchi route so I'll be aiming to follow that for a portion and invoke my inner Gilbert or Stybar for a while. Has anyone cycled the famed white gravel roads, how puncture friendly are they? Something like https://ridewithgps.com/routes/11138470 from about km10 to km100 is all part of the route, more or less.

I did a quick search on here and I'm surprised there wasn't more threads on Siena/Tuscany given how famed it is as a destination. From a trawl on google there doesn't seem to be too many places doing bike rental in Siena either, which again I thought was a strange so any recommendations that people have used would be appreciated. www.dfbike.it/en seem to be one of the few I've come across.

Cycled the length of Tuscany from La Spezia to Bolsena last June as part of the Hospice Cycle. Unfortunately I can't comment on the Strada Bianchi but the roads were an absolute joy to cycle on. Perfect surface, not much traffic and, of course, amazing scenery. Divertiti.

Come back on and let us know how you go. Both on the Tuscany bit, and on the how to combine family and cycling interests within the one holiday. :)
