How do I print out a movement from AgFood.ie on line. I have selected the animal I want to transfer to herd owner X. The tag number went from one box to the other. But I still can't figure out how to print off a movement permit?

    Help greatly appreciated!

When you've created the permit, there are 2 tabs/options on the right handside called email & open.
Click on open & it should open a pdf file which you can print the 3 pages

"Open or email" top right of screen, select open

    Select print

As above assuming movement is approved

    How is a movement approved?

Does approval have to happen manually by someone in the Dept? Or is this automatically approved on screen?

Ok I am confused by this thing.

Can someone please take me through the steps of how to transfer an animal from my herd to another herd and then how to print off a movement permit?

    Main menu options
    -view herd profile
    -register birth of animal
-apply to move animals from farm to farm/feedlot
    -notify farm movement
-register for use of online herd register
-interact with AIM using farm software providers
-record/view animal events for suckler scheme

    Click that.

You will get a screen similar to below, make sure you click the movement is to a holding. Then select the animals you want to move over into the right column.

Put in the Herd No of the buyer in the 'Moved to' box.
The details should come up automatically after you click submit.

Now see the red circle around print? I can't show you the other way as I've no movement to do. Click that, then put in details to search, eg date from or the herd number of the buyer. Click search & the compliance cert should show up.

    Well done Kovu :)
It's not an easy process to explain or follow the DAFF tutorial unless you have some computer savvy.

I got it now. Thanks for all of you taking the time to explain that. The way I got it to work was I omitted the herd owners I'd and printed a blank permit which I then filled in his herd number. It would not work otherwise for me. Is this the case for other people?

To be honest I am fairly good with computers but I find the departments IT system backward. Which is bad enough, but they give f -all on line support so that someone can troubleshoot. They are behind the times. Big time.

I didn't mean to offend. Apologies if so.
I also had problems doing transfers on line initially when Agfood became live and I work with IT every day.

I think the department owe Kovu a little thank you for writing the first decent manual chapter for their steam-driven system.

it should work with the buyers details on it though. There would be 2 things , is the herd number correct and is he allowed to buy in. The fact it would work with a blank herd number would ring alarm bells with me

Would the blank one just be for an open permit ? You fill in the destination herd when you know the herd number and then post off your notification copy , I think anyhow

yes but the beauty of putting in the buyers number on line is you know if they are allowed buy in or not. No use finding out after you post away the blank one iykwim.

True , but I wonder is the reason agfood not letting you put in another number that the other herd number just isn't registered for using agfood maybe ?
Why would someone try to deal with you if they are restricted from buying in anyhow ? Surely they would know they are wasting their time

No it doesnt matter if other herd isnt registered on agfood. Had a lad here buying a bull last year, I went to do a permit, agfood wouldnt allow it. We rang the guy, he didnt know he wasnt allowed buy in. He rang dept and they lifted whatever was stopping him buying in for the one animal. Saw a lad in the mart a while ago he bid on stock , went to pay and girl in office said you are not allowed buy stock according to the computer. He had a new herd numbert and thought he could buy what he wanted, apparently dept have to clear it on their computer that you can buy in first iykwim

Yea that used to be a hassle in the mart at times alright. That or herds next to locked up ones being restricted without notifying the farmers.
It's strange that it didn't automatically come up but maybe I missed out a part I was meant to show dungfly that I automatically do! :o

Next time I do a movement I'll do a proper screenshot thing and can save it here somewhere for future issues.
