I live in Dundalk and up until recently I could watch BBC,UTV,CH4 etc on my saorview tv but now there gone. I tried a automatic rescan and all i'm getting now is the Irish channels. Anyone able to help out as I really miss having access to Uk channels.

Are you using a satellite dish or aerial to receive the UK channels?

    Aerial I think.

Is there any sort of amplifier/power supply on the cable from the aerial?

AFAIK no changes in transmitter power from Divis which is probably where you are picking channels up from. As 'The Cush' implies check possible amplifier/power supply.

I have no idea, how would I check to see if there was a power supply coming from the cable?

There should be a power supply unit either in your roof space/attic or at near end of the cable i.e. the back of/beside the TV.

The power supply is a small box, plugged into a wall socket, which sits on the co-ax cable between the TV and the aerial to power a masthead amplifier close to the aerial in order to boost a weak received signal.

How many aerials do you have on the roof?

First thing I'd do is check all accessible connections to ensure all are secure.
