    Is that 279 euro?

At €279 it is an average price and performance is going to be very entry level - music, three or four tabs on firefox/chrome, watching videos.

I don't know about this particular model but a lot of these entry level laptops only have one ram bank and in order to upgrade to 4GB, which is very likely even within a short time, you have to strip the entire machine.

If it was 279 sterling it would actually be very over-priced.

If you go into Harvey Norman/PC World/Curry's they all sell these class machines at this price point.

The CPU is very very weak. For a child/silver surfer maybe, but if you're an employed person your time is literally worth more than waiting for a really low end laptop.

Up your budget by €120 and you'll get something usable.

This from another thread isn't half bad. A 128GB SSD.

Does it have to be a 14" screen? Unfortunately you can't really have it every way on such a low budget, but something like this either is about 2 to 3 times faster than the Tesco laptop for €50 more.
