Have an opportunity to join a bunch of friends on a ski trip in Iscghl in a few wks time. Most of the gang are renting a mini bus and staying a wk, whereas myself and one other are planning on coming home on the the tues night flight from Munich airport. What are our options for the two of us to make the trek from Iscghl to Munich airport on the tues afternoon/evening?

I'm sure there are transfers. Not sure about train to Munich but you can get a train from about 40 mins down the valley from Ischgl to Zurich if you haven't booked flights yet. Similar flight times to Munich (Aer Lingus). I think the town is called Landeck.

Flights are booked from Munich so another airport is not an option

    this is a tricky one.

Getting a train from landeck to munich airport will take 4 hrs at least add another hour to get from ischgl to landeck. Thats a very long journey and will take quiet a chunk out of your tuesday when ya could be skiing . Probably cost €65-70 each , but a lot more if ye need a cab from ischgl to landeck.

    So a few other options
    1. See if the transfer companies have any journeys there on tuesday that you can hop in on, i dunno about the companys that serve ischgl you'll have to look that up.
    2. Car rental out of munich airport is pretty cheap so the two of you could do both journeys yourselves, obviously don't leave the gang short changed for the transfer they booked. Where you are staying may charge for parking so do the math and see if you think it could work.

We've done this a few times by transfer, depending on how many people you have. Car rental might work out cheaper. Since we're usually 12 people-ish, it's usually a good deal. But car rental for 4 or less will definitely be cheaper. Sometimes there's scheduled transfers, but they tend to go around the houses, if you have the patience! The Ischgl website will have loads of info on all options. http://www.ischgl.com/en/more/getting-here

Anyone got any idea of cost of a taxi from Iscghl to Munich airport, and length of time it might take? Thanx for the replies so far

I'd say about €350-400 each way? Time, depending on traffic, time of day & day of the week. I've heard of some awful tailbacks on the border crossings on the weekends due to extended checks.

Is it really that expensive? It's about 120 miles I think. I was hoping around €200+. I'd nearly buy a car for €400!

I rented a car with a mate for two weeks for the same journey. Also gave us the option of checking out other hills.

We have a car rented with the rest of the gang, but two of us leave on tues, so won't have a car then. How long to drive from Iscghl to Munich?
