I just got an iPad for my parents. There has been many teething issues with the iPad. FaceTime not working etc
As I'm a 2 hour drive away I'd rather not be on the phone explaining what airplane mode is,how to know whether or not they are signed in etc
Is there an app out there where I can log in and take control of the iPad to fix such teething issues

I'd be very keen to know of such an app. But I don't think there is one.

If they have a pc, then probably the best you could do is something like Skype where they hold up the iPad to the camera and you can guide them through step by step.

That's the only way I can do this for my Dad. I haven't figured out any other way.

I'm not sure it's available on Apple, but search for teamviewer, it should do what you want :)

Yeah team viewer works as a remote support to view the screen and talk the user through what they need to do, functionality is limited but think you can do a few things.

I got my mam a Padfone S, but Teamviewer doesn't work with it unfortunately, but it works with a lot of other phones from what I know.

You see they were looking for either a laptop or a tablet. I reckoned the tablet would suffice. I've used team viewer, from what I read tho you can't access an iPad. It's seems that you can access desktop systems through the app rather than the other way round. Can anyone confirm this!?

It's possible on Android for sure, not sure about Apple though?

Possible to remote to the iPad from any windows or Mac according to this.

    https://itunes.apple.com/ie/app/teamviewer-quicksupport/id661649585?mt=8

There is also a android teamviewer quick support app so you might be able to remote from any android decice you have too.

Actually I must have been asleep earlier when I posted. That app doesn't allow remote takeover. Only a chat and file transfer service.

Haha I was thinking. It would be interesting to see why it hasn't been introduced..
