Reverse polarised an lcd controller and blew capacitor

    The 5 - legged thing just above it is probably a regulator - test around there

    For the cost of it not really worth fixing / chancing though in case it fails in the future and takes out your LCD panel

    I get 12v out of one of the regulator pins and that's all - the rest have no reading....

    I crossed the 4th and 5th a little by mistake and a light came on on the power button board....but a little spark came from the regulator.....that 12v is still there though....

    Can I rule out the capacitor as being a part of the problem now?
