Ready to pull the trigger on a new groupset for my bianchi sempre pro.

Coming in at £800 on chain reaction but I can get 0% finance on it which makes it much more manageable. Would love super record but out of my price range and going by reviews it's performance is no better than chorus. Just a little lighter.

Anyone know any better deals than what chain reaction has before I go for it?

Going for a 52/36 with 12/29 (was looking 11/28 but not in stock).

I have been using an ultegra compact for a few years but I am going to try a bit of racing this year and I am spinning out in sprints with the compact so I need some bigger gears!

Are you sure that you are spinning out?
    50x11 (119.7 inches) is a bigger gear than 53x12 (116.2 inches).
53x12 is a very big gear.

In a few of the club sprints my legs spin out, feel like I have more in me but my legs just start to go around at a ridiculous cadence. Especially on one with a slight downhill.

    What ratio do you recommend?

    Any idea of the cadence?
What is the size of the smallest cog on your cassette?

Don't know but I can check on the next outing. I also notice it on the downhills when I am spinning like mad and the boys out the racing set ups are still powering on down the hill.

    I am currently on a 50/34 11/28

I would highly doubt you spun out a 50x11. 50x11 @ a cadence of 120 is nearly 70kph. Unless you're a high cadence freak without specific training you're not gonna get anywhere near that cadence in that gear. I would suggest you work on your cadence, strength and fitness if you want to actually spin out a 50x11!

Like wise....people refer to "spinning out" alot...when infact it's prob more down to core strength, aerodynamics, and on downhills...not breaking as much or as hard! ! Sprints don't last long enough to have time to spin out, if they are, your going to early, sit in and get the drag from the rider in front! !

What is the point of a 53 then? So stick with a compact then?
Went back to my strava and the point that I find myself spinning out is coming out at 115 cadence and a couple of downhill sections around 125.

Anyway, anyone have any thoughts on where to get a good deal on chorus groupsets.

I spun out my 53x12 on rollers the other night, 168rpm, might have gone a bit quicker but was a bit out of control.
