Hi, noticed this yesterday, bike is new with just over 1000km done.

Is this bad for the crank itself? Is it a foot problem or pedal/cleat adjustment issue?

    Any replies appreciated....

    Edit, both sides.

It'll do it no harm other than rub off the paint.

A good and bad answer! Visually ugly but no harm is good.

Always happens when I wear overshoes so most of the time . Don't think my adjustment is out.

It happens on my winter bike but not on my good bike. I wear the same shoes and have the same pedals on both bikes so it's something to do with the crank arm thickness/design/angle as that's the only difference in the two bikes. (Sram v 6800)

Have some on my chainstay so might get another from LBS and modify it to fit.

    Its a foot,leg,knee,clet,alignment,nervous twitch,natural movement problem!!I would'nt worry about it,we're all different.

For the record,my road cranks after 4 years, including winters with overshoes are mark free.My mtb cranks after 4 years, including winters with no overshoes are rubbed goodo!!!
