Multi trip Travel Insurance Query

Hi Wonder can somebody help me on this query? If I take out an annual multi trip family travel insurance for a holiday and then some of the family go on individual trips later in the year are they covered by the family insurance or does the multi trip family just cover for travelling as a group? Thanks
