hi first time flyer here , ive booked a flight online with cityjet for march and just have a few questions ,

    1) Do i just print out the electronic ticket receipt from my email they sent me twice ? Cork - London and then London-cork as sufficient travel info.

    2) I wont have internet on the day im flying so checking in online wont be an option for me , will i be able to do so at the airport if i get there about 2 hours in advance ?

    3) would you advise on locking suitcase/carry on luggage with a small padlock or is this allowed ?

any help appreciated , apologies if any of the above questions are stupid I just dont want any mix-ups or difficulty's before i go :)

You don't need to print out the ticket if you have your boarding pass on your smartphone. They can scan the boarding pass on this. You can check in up to 30 hours before hand. Would be a good idea if you can find somewhere to check in or you can do it on your phone if you have Internet data.

My advice, don't give cityjet your cabin bag if they ask!!! I had an absolute nightmare from London back to Dublin and nearly missed my flight because they took my cabin bag and put it in the hold (connecting flight and they basically give zero time in between!). We were treated like it was our fault for almost missing the flight even though they caused the delay. Sorry not to put a downer on it but it's good to know :) You can put one of those small travel locks on your bag if you feel the need.

I've never had any problems giving them my bag, the overhead lockers are tiny so they check most bags. Delays at Dublin airport are Dublin Airport issues.

You'll get your boarding pass when you check in online :)

You should easily be able to find an internet cafe or actually free wifi in lots of places in cork, don't think it's that much in the dark ages ;)

Not too bad so if you have to check your bags, mine was cabin baggage so it was a disaster!

It wasn't a delay at dublin airport. It was a connecting flight from elsewhere and cityjet basically allow zero time in between connections, so when they are delayed you have to basically run for your flight. Add that in when you don't get you cabin baggage back and there is an enormous security queue and you have disaster. I've heard of this happening to others also.

Back on topic, enjoy your trip OP :)

Cork Airport has free wifi everywhere. So do McDonalds, Starbucks and pretty much every bar or restaurant so you'll have no trouble checking in :) Hope the flight goes well.

There's nothing wrong with checking in at the desk in the airport!

A word of warning to the OP re doing the above, most airlines close online check in a few hours before departure so may not work by the time you get to the airport

Yes, but if OP calls into a restaurant or pub a few hours before heading to the aiport there shouldn't be ny problem.

Why would you bother going to all that hassle? Just get them to print it for you at the desk!

Of course it's free. Not everyone's a Ryanair.

A few hours me bollix. They only open 2 hours before, and close between 15 & 40 minutes before departure.

:D Of course not. I'd find it handier to check in on my phone but that's just me.

The only airlines in Europe that I aware of that charge you extra for airport check-in are Ryanair and easyJet. For certain, every other airline that flies to Ireland do not charge for airport check-in and some may not even offer online check-in.

His comment was in relation to online checkin - he made no reference to airport check in.

They don't have apps for any platforms. You can check your booking details on the Air France and KLM apps but you can't check-in or anything.

You can checking on their mobile website. Then they email you a mobile boarding pass. The site is a disaster though.
