I skip the details but I dropped my keys in the toilet this morning.

There was already a crack in the fob from a previous incident so water easily got in.

The central locking won't work but the car will start.

Is there anyway to recover from this, will the car eventually not start or is it a trip to the dealers.

    Thanks

Dry it out and see what happens. Alternatively use the spare key?

The central locking and immobiliser functions are 2 separate circuits in most cases.

The central locking buttons transmit a signal using power from the battery. I'd pull the thing apart, put it somewhere warm and dry. (Actually I'd have a good look at it and judge if it was safe to blast it with electrical contact cleaner and then blast it with air, but let's keep it simple!).
Replace the battery once dry and try the key. Try to re-sync it if it doesn't work immediately.

The immobiliser is a "transponder" - It is sealed and does not work off the battery. It is an RFID type system - there is a ring behind the ignition that "bounces" a signal off the transponder and verifies the authenticity of the transponder (caution, contains simplifications). It shouldn't really be affected by a quick splash IMHO.
