Max number of Sky boxes

    All,

I'm helping my parents-in-law replace UPC with Sky due to MMDS service being terminated in April.
They have several TVs in the house as they have 24 hour carers living in who have TVs in their rooms.

What is the maximum number of multi-room boxes allowed, and is the limit a ( commercial ) Sky one, or a technical limit based on the number of connections to the dish possible ?

    Thanks

What channels were on the MMDS service. If it's the Irish ones and the primary UK ones (BBC, ITV, Ch4) then you would be better off getting combo boxes rather than multi-room from sky.

You can get an octo LNB with 8 separate connections. That would allow 1 Sky+ box and 6 other single tuner boxes.

I do not know of a limit to the number of multiroom subs.

If you are running with Sky multiroom then Im fairly sure its a max of 3 i.e. main box + 3 multiroom boxes.

But as stated above if its only the non encrypted/subscription channels you're after then you would be better off getting either fta receivers or combo receivers.

I can recall before installng 6 boxes (sky+ & 5 multi room ) for a customer when I installed for sky and that was only about 2/3 years back.
It was ordered through an ASA tho, not sure if that makes a difference.

Ive put in 6 boxes in one hse myself no problem at all and it used to be that you would get some boxes cheaper or free for first twelve months as subscription so high
