It used to be worthwhile checking for English language broadcasts from foreign countries on SW though some of it was blatant propoganda, especially the Voice of America and Radio Moscow. I was listening to an English language broadcast from a German station on SW in 1987 when the report came in that a German guy caled Matthias Rust had just landed a light aircraft in Red Square Moscow, it was ages afterwards when the BBC and other networks picked up the story.

Internet radio has severely reduced the appeal of listening on SW.

    Bumping thread.

9395 Khz, WRMI, playing decent oldies.

Signal not so good indoors but listening with about 30 feet of wire flung up in a tree. Signal 10-20 Db over 9 with some fading.

Some decent stations on SW , you need a good antenna, just like TV you need an external antenna setup.

The above link is handy for getting a list of active frequencies , some won't be shown on this site.

Believe me, Shortwave is going nowhere any time soon.

And yes, Brother Stair has tonnes of frequencies, probably one of the greatest Shortwave broadcasters ever.

He's on 5900 Khz right now blasting me out of it. hahaha, have to say though , I have most of his frequencies in memory , why ? well because he's handy to get an idea of band conditions lol.
