Pajero CV joint wear

Hi. I drive an 02 Pajero. Recently the CV joint went. So ordered up a new one and changed it. Straight afterwards (2/3days later) the half shaft slipped out of the CV joint. The clip didn't appear to hold. We think the incorrect clip was provided.
This resulted in a new half shaft being needed plus another CV joint. Sourced from another place.
This time it lasted around 2 weeks before there was a grinding back in the car. Mechanic reckons its the CV joint. Same one that's been replaced... Would there be any reason it's being so hard on the CV joint since the work has been done?
