Impossible to know really - has she seen an endocrinologist? I was referred to one by the fertility consultant for an endocrine issue, and got some positive feedback, so I'd say get her GP to refer her and they can check to see if the thyroid issue is hindering your TTC efforts or not.

Just had her bloods done by the GP so will wait in that but she has regular appointments in the local hospital where they take bloods, that's as much as I know(terrible I know :))

Not terrible. I get regular blood checks and they barely let me know the outcome.

I've to contact my GP or specialist to discuss that the outcome of the test was normal.:p

Got all blood test back and our GP said all was fine,Also got the semen analsys results back and came back fine.

He said next step would be to book a appointment with a gynaecologist and recommend we go private.

Anyone have ideas on what the cost is for first consultation with the Gynaecologist and cost of further scans and/or anything else they might test for straight away.

Clueless on what to expect next with regards to what the tests would be and also the prices as we would be paying for everything ourselves.thanks

Yeah I had an overactive thyroid and have had 2 pregnancies. When pregnant I was referred to a really nice endocrinologist in Limerick and he took me off my meds and I have not gone back on them despite having taken them for 18 years before that. seemingly for reasons they don't know it often disappears during pregnancy and either comes back with avengance within 6 weeks after birth or might not come back.
