    Hi

I was renting a property which had numerous issues.

In order to get these issues fixed we refused to pay water charges until the landlord rectified them.

A bill came today with an 'unregistered' fee.

    I have 2 questions.

    1. Once the issues are rectified with the landlord I will be paying the bill (for water charges only). Can I apply for the 100e per year credit once I pay?

    2. Can I pay for the bill during the time we were at the property without registiering? I have given my notice and have bought a new property which I will be registering for water charges this month.

    Thanks

    Hi Dublin21,

    Thank you for contacting us.

In order to be eligible for the 2015 Water Conservation Grant, Irish Water invited both customers and non-customers to register their details by June 30th 2015. As your details were not registered with us by this deadline, you would not qualify for the 2015 Water Conservation Grant. However, if you register your details with Irish Water now you may be eligible to apply for future grant payments.

You can pay for this bill for the time you resided in the property as an unregistered customer, however we would recommend registering your details with us to ensure that you are being accurately billed.

    I hope this information helps.

    Kind regards,
    Niall
