Looking for a 7 seater, and saw this. Hope the link works.
Bringing her in doors to check a few out this weekend as she'll be driving it mostly. Not sure whether we need the larger one or not, but 4 kids from 4 and a half down in July might mean it's necessary. Ball park 12 to 15k, diesel.

    Avoid this?

    That seems dangerously cheap tbh.

worth noting that it is a uk import. Try and get the uk reg number off the seller and report back here.

It does seem like one of those too good to be true things tbh.

Didn't bother enquire about that galaxy, reckons it is probably best avoided. I saw it a few weeks ago on line and if it hasn't been snapped up by now there must be a problem.
We went and looked at a couple of cars today, looked at a galaxy and a Smax, I'd probably have chosen the galaxy but she was much happier in the Smax. So the search now begins for one of those.
Looking 15/16kish, could maybe stretch a bit more if it was worth it. Minimum zetec spec.
Would there be much difference between the 1.8 and 2.0L diesel?

What would opinions be on either of these? The one in Wicklow is only 20mins away, the other has a lot less mileage. Would the local one be worth it if its fully serviced, timing belt done etc?

"Caseys selling quality cars for over 40 years!!"

They had no problem selling a few lemons in those 40 years either.:(

Are you telling me they should be avoided?

That car looks like it could be ex-Addison Lee from the UK, although a lot of those are lower spec.

Another thing that's just come to mind, really thrown me....no airbags or curtain or safety devices for the 3rd row of seats in the smax. We will have one child in the back row at all times. Is there any mpv in my price range (15kish) that would have?

Well, their history is that they were Main Ford Dealers in Castlebar since mid 70's. Went bust about 10yrs ago, and the 2nd generation are now running a Sales & Repair enterprise at that site in the advert. They are not Main Agents for any marque.

The 2.0l diesel is the much better engine and newer too. The 1.8 in the S-Max is underpowered if you are going to be using it with a full load and it is also a very old engine too. Even when not fully loaded the 1.8 can be underpowered. Try and get a Titanium spec S-Max if you can. They look really good in Titanium spec.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Another one that's surely too good to be true. I'm in wexford so can't just pop in for a look. What do you guys think? Of the car/mileage/dealer?
