Renewing drivers licence early

    Hi Boardsies,

    Need a bit of advice. My full licence is due for renewal at the start of April. A company that I recently interviewed with (it's looking likely that I have the job) have asked for a copy of my licence. They noted its due for renewal soon and stated that they would need a copy of the new licence once a formal job offer has been made. Can you tell me if it is possible to get a new 10 year licence early? If I say I lost my existing licence I assume they will only give my new licence up to the date of expiry anyway.
    Can anyone shed some light on this for me.

    You only have 2 months left on your current licence.

    Google renewing a licence and this website states;

    http://www.ism.ie/advice/driver-licensing/renewing-a-full-driving-licence

    You are entitled to apply to renew your driving licence if:
    • You hold a driving licence that will expire within 3 months

    You can renew any licence for 10 years except the following: C,C1,D,D1,CE,C1E,DE,D1E which are 5 years only. And the other poster is right. It can be done within 3 months of expiry.
