Lumia 535 issues

I took over my daughter's Lumia 535 windowsphone and have several issues: I took recent photos and plugged it into the PC to transfer the pictures and the caption comes up that "there are no new photos", which is a new one on me!. Also,the phone wont allow me to download an app (the TED app)unless I go onto MyFamily, which then sends me around in circles....any ideas?

The MyFamily thing might because at some stage the email used to set up the phone, was set to date that suggested a child. Even if you change the date it will still insist its a child. It was too hard to get the account fixed so I just created a new account for the phone.

I just use file explorer to move photos from the phone/sd card to the PC.

How did you create a new account? i got the photos issue sorted. It is such a clumsy phone to use; the samsung was much better.
