Anyone else see this tonight? I'm dumbfounded as to how it has recieved such good reviews. The most bizzare piece of cringy crap I've ever seen. Disappointed because I have a huge interest in this case and this could have been so good. Do not buy Cuba as OJ for one minute.

What happened? Did he do it?

I like my oj without the bits. A good glass in the morning with my cereal.

He was framed in Capricorn One. The producers of that film knew there was no smoke without fire.

I haven't seen it, but I've seen Capricorn One. I've never tried Tennent's with OJ either.

The first (and second last) time I stayed in a hostel, I was in Amsterdam (October 1995) and there was this African lad there reading a French language newspaper. The main headline was 'OJ est acquitté'. I should really look it up to see what that means...

It's from the same guy as 'American Horror Story' and 'Glee' so you should know what to expect. Empty crap.

    It's pure hammy sh1te.

So there's some nice singing in it at least? OJ: The Musical could be fun.

The detectives show up and find the bodies of the two victims.
They do a little more 'detective' work, then they find a glove on the ground.

    "Ok.....*dramatic pause*.....we have a crime scene here"

Eh, the stabbed and mutilated bodies didn't suggest that already, Sherlock?

The glove was found at his house. The bodies were at Nicole Simpsons house.

Agree with OP, it's awful over-acted cliched ridden crap.

It's super-cheesy, but true crime is the zeitgeist right now. I enjoyed it as I vaguely remember the story but not some of the details depicted.

Because it's honestly such a fascinating story that it'd be near impossible for a show about it to not be somewhat entertaining?

I agree it isn't great, but I'm still enjoying the hell out of it.

The 30 For 30 episode about OJ's little drive is pretty great https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_17th,_1994

The O. J. Simpson Trial, As It Might Be Described by Dr. Seuss
    .
I did not kill my lovely wife
I did not slash her with a knife
I did not bonk her on the head
I did not know that she was dead.

I stayed at home that fateful night
I took a cab then took a flight
The bag I had was just for me
My bag! My bag! Hey, leave it be.

When I came home I had a gash
My hand was cut from broken glass
I cut my hand on broken glass
A broken glass did cause that gash.

I have nothing, nothing to hide
My friend, he took me for a ride.

Did you take this person's life?
Did you do it with a knife?

I did not do it with a knife
I did not, could not kill my wife
I did not do this awful crime
I could not, would not anytime.

Did you hit her from above?
Did you drop this bloody glove?

I did not hit her from above
I cannot even wear that glove
I did not do it with a knife
I did not, could not kill my wife
I did not do this awful crime
I could not, would not anytime.

And now I'm free, I can return
To my house for which I yearn
And to my family whom I love
Hey now I'm free -- give back my glove!

Acting is a very cheesy which is strange with all the reputable actors in the show.

Saw Theo Huxtable in last nights episode.

Unless Lisa Bonet shows up quick, I won't be catching it again.

Robert Kardashian is protrayed as a complete idiot in this series, does anyone know if this was what he actually was like in real life? if so I guess it would answer why his kids are such morons....however, he was a lawyer so i always assumed he had a bit of savvy about him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,127 ✭✭✭kjl

I've seen all of them so far and I enjoy it.

Funny Robert Kardashian telling his kids that fame for the sake of fame is meaningless. Must have been the producers sly dig at them.

if robert kardashian was alive today do you think he would be disappointed with what his family are doing? i presume all that nonsense was driven by his ex wife kris?

I think he would have hoped that his kids had proper careers.

I've read that Robert changed his mind about OJ's inncence half way through the trial and the two actually weren't speaking by the verdict so it will be interesting to see if that is portrayed.

I think he would have hoped that his had proper careers.

Do you think David Schwimmers portrayal of him was accurate?

Being a lawyer I would have assumed his family would have attended good schools and would essentially be upper class instead his family are nothing more than glorified trailer trash with no jobs and are dysfunctional to say the least

Yes he seems to have been a good man, a man of faith but blinded by his friendship with OJ which is understandable, in retrospect i think Robert Kardashian would have been far better off had he never known OJ Simpson, his name being attached to the circus surrounding the trial was the catalyst for the joke his family became

I haven't actually been watching myself so couldn't comment on Schwimmers performance.

Yeah being a successful lawyer I'd say he paid for a decent education for his children. Sad to see them waste it. They're all 30 something and don't seem to have jobs or qualifications.

The one with all the children to Scott has a degree and masters in business. She seems to be the business behind their clothing stores.

Yes, take away the fact that they are on tv and they are no different than the trailer trash you see with kids to different fathers and none of them work, the bruce jenner thing is just beyond bizarre

Four episodes in, I think it's kind of trash tv, but I think it's enjoyable trash.

In fact, given that it's America, I wouldn't be surprised if it is actually dramatically accurate.

keeping away from the kardashians is trash tv, this is more of a dramatization based on a real event

I'd call any show that focuses disproportionately on drama, rather than facts, to be a kind of trash. And incidentally, I may as well be watching The Kardashians since they're in every second* scene.

    *exaggeration.

true enough but at least it was an incident that actually happened as opposed to just watching dysfunctional idiots hang around their house

so last nights episode confirmed my thoughts on Robert Kardashian, he was a good man from a good family, noted when he refers to the grandparents and him and the values they try and instill in the kids, however he appears to also be a bit of a fool, noted in the meeting with the hot shot lawyers when he keeps calling OJ "the juice" and "uncle juice" how ridiculous he sounds, also the DA's office said they didnt even know he was a lawyer!...fair play to the producers for having a go at the kardashians where Robert stated that being famous for being famous is worthless....no doubt him and his parents would be very disappointed with how his family turned out....i suspect the whole fame thing was driven by his ex wife Kris...although interestingly her view on OJ was correct, that he was the killer but Robert was blinded by friendship....one thing though I have to commend OJ on was he didnt want to should racism....when Sharpio wanted to take on johnny cochrane he said i'm not black i'm OJ, all cochrane wanted to do was stir sh*te.
