    Hi folks,
Looks like a piece of grit may have gotten stuck under my wiper at some stage so now I have an arc scratch on the windscreen on drivers side.
I've washed and used window cleaner spray but no joy. Any easy way to remove this?
Would someone like auto glass Polish under insurance?
    Cheers,
    Mick

It is possible to polish scratches out of glass too - if it isnt too bad!

Thanks I don't want to replace the windscreen as everything else is fine

Yeah, its best not replacing an OEM screen, if it can be avoided.
If its really bad, a machine polish with Cerium Oxide and Rayon pads - but if its not too bad, it may be got out by hand.

I've contacted auto glass anyway to see what they say...

CarPro Ceriglass kit is what you need. It's available on detailing shed. If you have access to a D/A then I would suggest also getting Rayon pads from detailing shed and using this option instead of the rayon block that comes with the kit.

Well you could order what you need to try it by hand, or you could contact someone who might be able to do a to rectify, without braking the bank - obviously its difficult to price without seeing it.

A user here randy hickey is a detailer in the north Dublin area. Might be worth sending him a PM about it.

Give Ian in Elite Auto Clean a call. He's a true professional and can give you an answer over the phone.

I have a dual action machine polisher. Im not sure what pads I have for it but i think i've one or two hex-logic pads and a microfibre pad or two lying around. Not sure if these will do more harm than good or not, though. Perhaps the gents above can advise? I skimmed the thread if im honest, as Im not familiar with the products being talked about. If the gist is to just clay and machine polish the windscreen, then you can use my stuff if you're nearby (Drogheda).

Not sure if the polish i have is glass friendly or not though. I've no idea what a rayon pad is either.

If you don't know what a rayon pad is then I would suggest you retract your offer :P

I don't know of anyone else I'm afraid. There's Kingpin but they're in South Dublin.

Annoyingly I had my windscreen replaced due to scratches from wiper during the summer. I had new bosch wipers fitted from halfords.. Noticed Friday what looks like scratches again
.. How can it be? The wipers couldnt be wore out.. They only couple of months old and some of that time was the summer months so they got a little less use... What is causing it... I can't keep getting new windscreens....

Pretty bad luck if that's what caused it :(

    Stranger things have happened!

Is it in the middle of the blade or towards the ends - sometimes blades arent the best fit
