Advice on choosing a family car

    Hi,

I'm going to piggyback here (rather than starting a new tread)

I'm looking at buying a family saloon (or suv type). Have a max budget of €9k plus my Nissan Primera 2007 1.8 Auto as trade in or proceeds.

Finding it hard to get a car as comfortable with the high specs of the Primera (I know it's all a matter of taste, but it's my 4th primera and if they hadn't stopped production in 2007 - I would probably be looking at my 5th - never had any issues in 16 years of driving them)
    Can't afford a Qashqai (overpriced)
Juke is probably a tad too small for my needs
So I'm probably looking at the
Mondeo, Octavia, Insignia, Citroen C5, Renault Laguna and Peugeot 3008, 508 etc.

Laguna is the only real value I can find.
Have to admit, it would not have been the first to my mind, but seems to be the best value.

Would consider bringing in from UK also

Any constructive advice? or links to good value

I have a skoda (superb) and I can't fault it. a lot of taxi men have moved to Octavia as they are supposed to be a rock solid reliable car - I have talked to 2 different mechanics and they both spoke very highly about the Octavia. Their new range are very nice so I'd say worth a test drive. Skoda are part of the Volkswagen / Audi / seat group so they have rock solid engineering and tech behind them. Best of luck
