    Hi

Can anyone recommend a place to get Velux blinds?

I was on a site and they are asking for code of window which I have no idea of.

Any blinds shop should do them. They need the code because the blinds are an exact fit. When you open the Velux window there should be a small metal plate on the side of the window which has the code for your window.

Here's where you get the code

I have bought some blackout blinds for some Velux windows I have at home. Some are official Velux brand I bought off eBay/Gumtree (I wouldn't pay full price) but I have also got a few from sellers on eBay that do generic blinds to fut Velux. They tend to work out at half the price of the official ones and are decent quality.

cheers for that. I want to get black out blinds. they are pricey like €70 euro a window. I only have two that I want to do.

It was blackout I got on all my upstairs Velux windows.
I was patient and got some off Gumtree, making offers to people selling them throughout the UK. After all, my logic was "this person has a blind they ain't ever going to use, lowball them and see what happens". Was often successful.

Plus, the generic ones I bought were something like this:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACKOUT-SKYLIGHT-BLINDS-FOR-VELUX-WINDOWS-EXCLUDING-K-WINDOWS-/281800565140?var=&hash=item419c9f6194:m:m5ANVr1i2DtqslZNZ7XziBA

Maybe not that exact manufacturer, but there are loads of sellers of aftermarket Velux type blinds on eBay. I found the ones I bought very good quality and actually easier to fit than the proper Velux ones.

I used these recently. Genuine velux blinds much cheaper. They also do their own brand.
