Anyone ever try the roof racks and are they any good? Are they for roof bars? A friend was only sayin yesterday that he wanted to buy one.

I had the exact set and they are pretty good! They only work with roof bars indeed. It survived a trip to France and back with a roof box on top

Think I asked that question over in the detailing forum before.
Somebody replied and said they were very happy with it for 40 euro don't think you could go wrong.

I have a numatic George wet dry but that cost well over 240 bought it two weeks before a lidl one was on special typical of my luck.

I've been waiting ages now for either LIDL or ALDI to have a bluetooth single-DIN stereo back in. It's like they don't bother any more :(

I want one to replace the CD player in the missus's runabout, but I don't want to spend over 70 quid on it.

Would you not spend €10-€20 more and get a good one like a Pioneer from Halfrauds?

The LIDL/ALDI head units looks cringe worthy in a car, IMO.

It's a 2005 Micra that we use for short runs, so I'm not interested in sticking in something expensive, just something that'll let us stream from the phone and take calls. Admittedly I haven't looked at Halfrauds for a while, used to be that BT stereos were always over €120.

80e for the cheapest sony BT headunit in halfords, even cheaper if you are with AXA insurance, it's a no brainier.

Seems like a decent option and it's probably a much better product than the LIDL/ALDI equivalent and doesn't look as tacky.

George will still be going strong in 10 years time. It's a bit hit and miss with Lidl gear.

They're fine but noisy, they have an irritating whistle. Cured mine with a layer of tape on the top surface, covering the pointless ridged plastic insert
