Eircom Fibre router replacement

My F1000 router was knocked over last week and was acting up since, but today it finally kicked the bucket and will no longer turn on.

I purchased this router today as a replacement: https://m.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/4394066/Trail/searchtext>Router.htm and after setting it up I could connect to it no problem but I can't get internet access through it.

The asdl light on the router doesn't stay on when its connected to the wall so I'm guessing the issue may be something with the router not being compatible with the Fibre connection, but I'm not too sure.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You bought an ADSL2+ router when you have a VDSL2 service. Call eir and get them to ship you a new unit or order from Amazon. Very few stores here will stock a VDSL2 w/ vectoring modem.
