I have about 20 Acres that is covered in ragwort . I was always told spray in February to April. I want to spray now but I was advised the local coop not spray now as it is too late. The ragwort will not be gone completely out of the ground when I go to graze it in mid April. What are your thoughts.

Walk the field, the spray works when they are just open called "rosette" stage. This will vary depending on the year and your location just like the growth of any plant.

I wouldn't have thought you were late at this stage.

If you google you'll get images of the young ragwort plant.

Are there actually any ragworth plants there now? Spray doesnt work in frosty conditions. We leave cattle off for 3 weeks. Normally spray in march

AFAIK this is the best time of year to spray as it's a biannual plant, spray now and you get all stages. What spray was your co-op selling?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
