I have an 05 connect 1.8tddi and man it is sluggish, there is defo something holding back on the power i cant figure what it is

A mate has the same van a year older even and his is far nippier than mine and he hasnt done any mods to his at all, ive changed the air box and blanked the egr, made a wee bit of diff but today we were driving side by side and put boot down and he gradually leaves me for dust

My van is very well serviced, tyres inflated correctly etc

I have no codes to suggest anything either, they are exact same vans/engine his has even done about 20k more than mine!

    Anyone have any suggestions

How are the intercooler hoses? No splits?

Are you sure he has the TDDI engine and not a TDCI? How is your fuel filter?

I had the EGR valve blanked on my Focus for a while but I didn't like how it felt. It either made the car slower or evened out the power curve because the boost kicking in didn't feel as violent.

Ive double checked all pipes and cant see any cracks or splits

Yeah he has the exact same engine 1.8 tddi endura engine

My fuel filter was last changed about 6k ago, blanking the egr and changig the air box did make a little difference but i cant understand with no mods his is just leaving me behind, i even drove his and his is defo more responsive

I would like to find out the boost each turbo is giving out but the elm bluetooth thing i have wont bloody connect to the vans, i think the torque app dosent work on these might have to find another maybe

Diagnostic plug in and check MAF readings actual versus desired.
