Hi a close work colleague is to be married soon. I've been invited to the wedding but unfortunately unable to attend. For a budget of 100-150 euro, what would be people's suggestions, thanks?

Dinner for 2 in a nice restaurant, after getting married you can be rather broke and a voucher to do something fun together is nice. We got a blue book voucher and used it as part of a few nights away which was lovely. They will probably get a lot of crystal, frames etc. so best to avoid these. Other things we got that were nice was a nespresso coffee set as they knew we had a nespresso machine. Avoca also have some nice and more unique gifts.

When I got married we got about 10 new bridge silver sets... 1 was probably too much. I don't think anyone would've disappointed with a nice card and a few quid in there... Sorry I can't make it... Have a brilliant day and long and happy life together.. Here's a little gift - when the dust settles head out and have a nice meal and a few drinks on me.... Lots of love your friendly mod

I didn't bank on, and wouldn't have expected getting a gift from any of my actual guests.
It never even occurred to me that someone who couldn't make it would send more than a card.

very nice of you to send a gift.... Never thought people did either but for our own we got lots of gifts from people who could not attend..

I would think just give them the money, while it is nice to get something unless ye are very close and know what they would defo like a lot of gifts not being mean here but can be somewhat unwanted.. So given cash is easier or a dinner voucher

We have given Blue Book Vouchers to the last few Irish weddings we have been invited to. Always gone down well.

Money. I was in that situation due to illness of a family member. Sent a cheque (crossed of course!) with a nice card.

Duly acknowledged with delight. I don't think they expected anything TBH.

I wouldn't have known where to start by buying a gift, so I just did what guests attending would do....MONEY!!

A voucher for a nice restaurant will always go down well!

You can't go wrong with this
