Tv is not picking up the above channels

It picks up all the rest (RTE2, TV3, TG4 and 3e) work perfectly, but no RTE 1 or UTV Ireland when I do auto-scan???

It was kinda working a few days, it said something about a 'weak signal' message on RTE 1 only, Did a number of re-scans tonight and they are gone completely.

The other TV's in the house have no problems, all channels working.

RTE 1, RTE1 +1, RTE jr, & UTV Ireland are carried in a different RF (radio frequency) channel to the others, so you have a poorer signal on this channel for some reason, most likely an underperforming aerial system.

Might just be something specific to the TV point in question, or might be a general problem, with some slight extra factor at the problem TV point pushing things below the threshold for reception.

I have this issue as I'm using nothing more than a length of cable stuck in the RF input! Not that I care as I watch so little Irish tv.

Would just moving the position of the outside chimney aerial sort it maybe? Am already using a plug in booster thing that is wired up to the outside aerial, that's all I know. The booster needs to be plugged in constantly or we get no signal at all.

The plug-in part is probably a power supply for an outside 'masthead' amplifier.

Anyhow, I think you'd be better served getting someone in for a look, rather than speculating here on what might or might not be the cause of the problem. If you want to DIY, you could start with looking for things like poorly fitted aerial plugs or dodgy wallplates, before you go climbing onto the roof anyway ...

Could be the wall plate, had the same problem here!
