    Q1: Water grant
    As an occupier of a property, by registering your details, you will be eligible to apply for the 100 euro Water Conservation Grant for 2016, more information on this will be determined in due course.

    Households who do not register with Irish Water will receive a default bill for 260 euro per year per dwelling and will not be eligible to apply for the 100 euro water conservation grant.

    Q2: How can the Water Supplied & The Wastewater Removed be the exact same on each bill ?
    The Water Services (no. 2) Act 2013 specifies that wastewater from a domestic premise is deemed to equal to the volume of water that enters the property.

    As there is no means to measure Wastewater, this pricing plan was set by the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) and will be reviewed at the end of 2018.

    Q3: Cryptosporidium laced water drinking for almost a week
    Irish Water notify customers through water.ie, Twitter, local media, leaflet drops and we call priority customers directly regarding Boil Water Notices.

    Irish Water is working with the EPA & HSE on the lifting of Boil Water Notices. We inform customers when any notice is lifted.

    When a customer is affected by a Boil Water Notice or a Water Restriction for 24 hours or more, they receive a 100% discount on supply entering a property.

    Please see wtr.ie/SupplyInfo for all up to date information regarding Boil Water Notices and supply disruptions in your area.

    Q4: Delay in January bill
    It can take 6-8 weeks from the end of the billing quarter for customers to receive their bills for that period of time.

    We can provide you with a more specific date as to when you will receive your next bill, if you wish? To do this, we would ask that you send the following details via PM:

    Your name;
    Address;
    Contact number;
    Account number; and
    Confirmation that you are the account holder.

    Q.5: Late Payment Fees
    Late Payment Charges are applicable 1 year after issue of first bill - April/May 2015. This will appear on your Jul/Aug 2016 bill. Those who have unpaid bills of at least the annual capped charge & don't have a payment plan, will attract a late penalty.

    If you know you will be late making a payment, you can call 1890 448 448 and a member of our team will be happy to help.

    More info on the late payment charge can be found in Section 4 here: http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/2014/act/44/enacted/en/pdf.

    (a) when do IW plan to 'determine' this? It's mid-February.
    (b) when and how can a householder apply for this grant, and what's the deadline?

    I can find nothing about this on the website, but if it's there please post a link.

    TIA

    Applications for the 2015 Water Conservation Grant have now closed. The Department of Social Protection have yet to announce the registration deadline for the 2016 grant.

    When this information is confirmed, we will publish it on our website, Water.ie, and we will also update customers here on our Boards Talk To forum and on our Twitter page.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead
