Not allowed to claim Rent tax relief on PAYE Anytime

    I wanted to claim tax relief on rent for the years 2014 and 2015, however this is greyed out in PAYE Anytime, so it does not allow me to do this. See image attached

    I have been renting since August 2009, so I am still eligible to claim tax relief. However I have only been working since Sept 2014. Previous to this I was in college.

    I have downloaded and I am currently filling out the Rent1 form. However I have changed accommodation numerous times since 2009. I am claiming for accommodation I stayed for following amount of time:

    House 1: August 2012 - March 2015 (This will be claim 1. Claim should be valid from Sept 2014 - March 2015, since I was working)
    House 2: April 2015 - Present (This will be claim 2. )

    On the form, it only asks for what property I am claiming for now. The date tenancy commenced and ceased.

    So since I started tenancy in the properties I am claiming for now after 7 December 2010, will my claim be refused? Am I required to provide proof of tenancy that I was in fact paying rent since 2009?

    :confused::confused::confused:

    You might need to prove it if you're audited, but I have helped other people to claim their rent relief back over the years and they only ever entered their current landlords and address.
