I've used it loads, last order arrived last week , but i wouldn't buy cycling gear or the like, you'll get good copies but bib shorts etc will have the cheapest padding available , its a great site for good imitation gear , I've bought t-shirts , runners and soccer jerseys , no complaints

+1 Don't touch the shorts. I got two pairs...one wash and they were toast. For a cheap jersey and gloves, maybe.

The gear is obviously fakes and there's been mixed report on here about quality - haven't bothered myself. There's are good bargains to be had at the legit (and authentic) leading on line retailers - chainreaction, Bike24, wiggle etc.

The zips go on the jerseys. Got maybe 15 wears out of them before the zip broke. I did buy a jersey from there that wasn't an imitation (looks like a tux!) and it's actually grand. All in all, if you're looking for cheap gear look at DHB or similar.

A friend got some knock off castelli / POC bibs and jerseys and they were rubbish quality. It looked the part at a glance but up close it wasn't great quality.

Dark bottoms were on white fabric printed black that went see through when stretched.:o

I'm surprised by some of the comments above, I have two pairs of obviously replica/fake bib shorts from Ali-Express, both are 2 years old now and have been worn countless times and are still in good a shape as other much more expensive shorts I also own. They wear well, the pad is as good if not better than many other higher end shorts and none of them have fallen apart or become thread bare. I actually prefer them to two pairs of Altura pro-gel shorts I own, theyre much more comfortable and the pad has held up better than the altura shorts. I'm not suggesting that Altura are particularly high end but theyre at least 3 times more expensive than Ali-Express items. I also have several jerseys from the same place and again, no problems with them, they wear well, dont fade or fall apart and are no worse than anything else I own.

I've had the exact opposite experience. I find the cycling gear great. Bib tights better than my santini bibs. I did a 12 hour charity cycle and a lot of my training in a pair of Giant Liv knock off bib shorts and not a bother.

I've brought a few sets (mainly old replica's not available officially anymore - not sure where those stand legally!), but the quality has been grand for the money, including the shorts/ tights. Only issues have been size related, and that's really a hazard ordering online anywhere (just the returns isn't an option) - in one case I went a size smaller rather than trusting the sizing chart, and another time I was right in between sizes and went larger when I would've got away with smaller!

What amazes me about most of the posts in this thread is the tacit approval and acceptance of supporting counterfeiting. Regardless of the "value" obtained, where is the sense of right V's wrong in this ? ....way to go, folks.

And please, none of your 'well-bully-for-you-if-you-can-afford-original-items' responses, please - there are plenty of good value sales items out there.......

Clear variation in customer experience. I'd be delighted to have had other experience, but mine was poor. At the end of the day, I do find that I tend to use my 'best' (often, tho not always, most expensive) gear gets used most, and my cheap knock-off stuff never gets used...a bit of a false economy. Quite a fan of Funkier, as a mid-range brand with comfy shorts, myself.

Well, bully for you, if you can afford original items!

Not everything on the site are fake - there's unbranded/ generic stuff too. But I guess for some people its whether they are really displacing a purchase of a genuine version of branded gear. I'd suggest it's not in most cases. Dhb are probably the ones missing out rather than castelli.

Actually I thought alieexpress was a bit like voldemort on here and not to be mentioned.

I'm sure, there'll be someone along shortly.
I'm surprised, this thread has lasted so long.

Aliexpress is like a Chinese Ebay come Amazon. it's HUGE.

There are a lot of shop who sell their own stuff.

A lot of what people think are "knock offs" are over spill of legitimate supplies.

If you use the site it is best to sort by supplier rating first, and then take it from there.

Discussion of legit stuff on there is fine and we've allowed a number of threads in the past. However we don't want posters discussing how to get hold of counterfeit goods.

I bought all my bibs and tops for commuting on aliexpress as I didn't want to spend hundreds on gear or end up with just one or two sets. Most of it had brand names on them but I didn't even know they were existing brand names nor did I care either way - me being green on such stuff. Quality seems fine to me and everything I bought lasted multiple years - still using stuff bought 2-3 years ago. The fleeced stuff was fine for the coldest Irish weather. Everything other than bibs and top were bought elsewhere though. For sizes go at least one size up if not two.

There should be nothing wrong with discussing the site 'in general' — rather than links to potentially counterfeit items on the site — as can be seen by contributions from a mod or two! That said, not all items on it are fake , some general non branded items were, generic etc.

I've bought bibs, gloves, jearsies, grid rollers, sun glasses, runners, leathers shoes, leather jacket .....

All good quality at a fraction of the price if bought in Ireland. Just look for the sellers with the good reputations.

I get some of the generic unbranded stuff from there, most of it is fine, summer gloves, disposable sunglasses, skull caps, neck warmers, multi tools, overshoes, and the MTB jerseys.

I find there is better quality there than with the fakes, the fakes are trying to imitate the original, without much care put to quality, the originals are trying to just make a good product.

After about 40+ purchases, only one, and even then it ended up being below the threshold.

The following is a good shop to use btw. West biking.

Great gloves, and super great rain jacket.
