Hi. I'm going to be studying English and History in NUI Maynooth in September and I wanted to get a start on the readings for English. Does anyone have the reading list for this years course?

It probably won't be the exact same but even if they turn out to be slightly similar, it would be a great help.

    Thanks so much!

Here you go: (From the English Dept's page though I'm not sure if it's aimed at this year's or next year's first years)
Information for incoming First Year English Students
We in the English Department of Maynooth University are delighted that your hard work on the Leaving Certificate has paid off, and that you have chosen to study English at Maynooth University, either through the omnibus degree (MH101) or through the more specialised BA English (MH114). Either way, you are most welcome. We have a dynamic Department, and offer what we hope is a stimulating course, one that combines the opportunity to work with faculty in seminars on specialised research areas with solid coverage of the core curriculum. We look forward to helping to deepen your interest in literature and culture over the next three years.

If you want to get a head start on your reading for studying English at Maynooth University, we would suggest that you start out with some of the following.

    Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

    Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights

    Mark Twain, Huckleberry Finn

William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

    August Strindberg, Miss Julie

PLEASE NOTE: The links above allow you to download and print the text or read as an e-book on your smartphone or laptop.
