Second Job on X & O dockets

I currently work one , sometimes two days a week and leave in x & o dockets.
I've been offered a second part time job (15hrs a week) both are minimum wage , I really want to take this job but I know that if I go over 3 days I'll no longer be entitled to a payment from the dockets so I know I'll be financially worse off. Is there anything else I might qualify for , seems ridiculous to turn down a job because it would leave us worse off but even more ridiculous to take the job and struggle financially.

If I did go for it and just do 3 days , do both employers sign off on the dockets ?

    Thanks in advance

You may be entitled to something like Family Income Supplement - if you have a family.

If the new job can allow me to work 3 mornings a week , my current employer has offered to allow me to work in the afternoon of one of the same days meaning I'll still be only working 3 days but for two employers.

Has anyone any experience with this? Is this allowed under the conditions of casual payment from Social Welfare ?

I 'think' that you will satisfy the 3 day thing, as you won't be working more than three days. But if you are on JA not JB you are means tested and it is possible that between the 2 jobs you'll be earning more than they will allow?

Note that you are allow earn a certain amount before it will affect how much you receive.

    Hi Karen,

I dont know what your personal circumstances are but if you are parenting alone and as your youngest child is under 14 you should be on jobseekers transitional... its means tested but you can work as many days as you like...obviously if you go over the means threshold you wont be paid for that particular week.

I'm currently on JA and means tested so they take a certain amount from my payment for every day I work but I wasn't aware there was a limit so I'll have to look into that. Thanks

I went for the interview and got offered the job but they want me to do 3 hours a day 4 days a week which means I lose my JA and end up a hell of a lot worse off financially.
So annoyed that I put myself through the interview , was successful and can't take the bloody job.

Hi check out Part Time Job incentive, you have to be below 24 hours a week but dont think amount of days matter.
