    Hi,
How do you apply for a license downgrade? I missed a year last year with a bad back and didn't manage to get any points in 2014 so I don't think I should be at A1 level for the start of this year but no other option is being given online other than LC. All ready tried CI but no answer other than a pre-recorded set of messages.

Try e-mailing CI - I've always found they will deal with e-mail requests quite efficiently.

I thought I read on the CI site there was no downgrades this year at all.

I think it was the opposite to stop lads jumping up a level to get a spot on the Rás.

Think Junior is right. A few managed to go A3 to A4 before new rules came into play? I thought that downgrading was allowed once grounds could be proved? Like injury etc?

They say downgrades are on hold for 2016

I don't know whether they have retained flexibility - maybe a special case can be made to the grading officer?

Its only the automatic type downgrades that are on hold. You can still apply for a downgrade, and each case will be taken on its own merit.
grading@cyclingireland.ie will go directly to the grading officer himself.
