Data protection breach

An assistant bank manager accessed our bank accounts without any authority and passed on information to third parties causing us huge trauma. His actions are malicious and his motives unknown. What is worse is the fact that we have told the Bank about this individual and nothing has been done about his actions. Cannot understand why a bank is taking a breach in their security systems so lightly as this could affect other clients .

passing an unpaid loan onto a debt collector perhaps?
An assistant bank manager accessed our bank accounts
    why would that be unusual?
    third parties
    what third party?
    huge trauma
    how so?

What do you bank T&C's say about it?

Looking up your details is not a breach of their security systems, unless it was done using someone else's login details. Bank policy typically is that you can't just go looking at people's accounts with no reason, so looking up your account details would generally be a breach of policy. If you can prove that your account details were passed on to a third party by a bank employee, and the bank won't get involved, go to the data commissioner.

If you filed a formal complaint they couldn't ignore it.

Section 7 of the data protection act (very limited)

    Or just complain to DPC

Why are you still banking there is it is known for 30 years that he is snooping?

I would suggest that he is able to look into your accounts as a bank operative but he certainly cannot pass information to a third party with your personal or contractual consent.

Why are you pussyfooting around with mediation meetings ? If you are so stressed then use the mechanisms that are available to you via the Data Protection Commissioner.

I have a friend that sits on the board of Credit Union and for that explicit reason alone I would never use that institution. Why do you persist in banking there ?
