    hello wise folks,

sorry if this thread is a repeat, but couldn't find what i was looking for on the others.

i do a daily commute of just over 110km (longer at the moment due to floods and detours)
    i currently drive a focus 1.4 petrol

had a look this eve and spotted a 141 trendline 1.6tdi

it was a terrible evening so didnt spend too long there and didnt meet a sales person.

any feedback would be great please

The problem with the Jetta is that the price gap between it and Passat isn't big enough to tempt people away from the Passat. Trendline is also the bog standard base model. Surely you would buy a more upto date higher spec Skoda Octavia for similar money?

Is a 1.6TDI engine big enough for an octavia, I was told that is wasn't for the passat!?

Octavia is a Jetta sized car, both are based on Golf underpinnings albeit the Jetta is based on an older Golf. It should be like any other 1.6 in a car that size, not quick but well able to keep up with traffic.

As said the Octavia competes with the Golf/Jetta segment.
