A 76 would be superior to a 66. This would be reflected in the price. A tidy 76 with a series 3 engine would be worth around €7k imo..

On a separate note, There's a 76 with a reported 1245 genuine hours advertised on this month's classic tractor for 7695 sterling. Not convinced the ad is legit though.

a ford 7610 series 3 1990-1992 4wd are making from 10k euro upwards, I haven't seen them making less than that.

the series 2 were known for the head going pourois causing it to mix oil and water. there are some series 2 models around reg 1991 and 1992 so look out for that.

well worth buying a clean one as they haven't dropped in price in the last 5-6 years

How is a 76 superior to a 66 and how would you know if they had the series 3 engine?

the 7610 has more power, the series 3 was sold 1990-1992 its not just the engine ,its the model, the bonnet would have a badge saying series III, there is also a rubber/plastic add on to the rear mudguard behind the rear taillights.

some have front mudguards but not all series 3 models do and some series 2 models do have them.

66 is naturally aspirated, 76 is turbo charged.
The only true way of knowing ( that I know of) is to measue the bore and stroke. These are "square" engines. I.e. The bore and stroke are the same.
