Fleming Big Blue Yard Scraper - problems???

bought a new fleming big blue yardscraper a month or so ago.

Not very happy with it at all...

Firstly, the rubber at both ends is curling up on itself when being pulled along. I have adjusted toplink in various lengths to try and stop this happening but to no avail.

Secondly, when the yardscraper is being pulled along at normal speed the yardscraper begins to bounce up and down, resulting in a lot of slurry being left behind.

Just wondering if anyone had the same yardscraper and if so have they have similar problems?

    Thanks

I have one of the fixed old style scrapers, but I know when you change the rubber, it can take a while to wear in before it runs smoothly. Maybe that's what's happening with yours.

+You need to have the scraper as level as possible.
It sounds as if it's digging in a bit too much. Maybe your toplink is not long enough for the scraper.

This may be the cause of it bouncing as well.

I have a daltons scraper with a hydraulic toplink and you have to extend the toplink to the full when going forward and retract the toplink almost back to the shortest when the scraper is turned over and reversing.

The Dalton scraper is the same as the fleming turnover one. The one toplink setting will not do both forward and reverse unless you wear off the wings on both top and bottom. That's where the hydraulic toplink comes in handy.

I have the same scraper for 10 years and it will bounce if not perfectly level but a way to overcome this is to add weight. I've a few 6" blocks on the frame when pulling it

Be careful because the curl sounds like its caused by not being level and pulling/pushing to much weight
