Can anyone help me in getting the registration for my old car?

Trying to get insurance in Ireland after being in Malta for ages and they need proof of no claims. Issue is, the policy was in place about 4 years ago and the car is long gone.

The insurance company in Malta won't give the details without the car reg and the insurance company in Ireland won't give the no claims benefit without a letter from Malta

Anyone know where I could go to get the reg number??

I don't know how anyone can help you, you are the only one who knows what registration your car was at that time.
Look back through your old paperwork and you might find the details, contact the insurance company you were with at that time?
Just be aware that after 2yrs your NCB will be void anyway.

    This.
Did you always go to the same mechanic back then? Do they have the reg on file?

Any chance you have old photos of the car somewhere? How did you get rid of the car, if sold to a dealer they would have a record of it, if sold on a classifieds website you may be able to review you old ad if you login.

I brought the car to Malta, never paid the import, got stopped and the car got impounded. After fines and fee's etc it was too costly to take the car back so told the government to keep it.

I've tried looking back through photos to see if it's there somewhere but with no luck at all.

The paperwork got lost in the move back to Ireland too. There's literally no documentation or photographic evidence of me ever having the car :(

Hence trying to see where else I might get that information

Start anew, as said earlier old NCB is void now (2 years max) and chances to find this old info is slim without having any documentation yourself.

Just a thought, did you get any emails from NCT for the test?

I've managed to find it!!! Took me nearly 4 hours of straight searching but I got it.

It was in an e-mail, of an account I don't use any more, with a notice to the port authorities that the car was coming in.

Thanks guys for all suggestions. Much appreciated! :)
