    Hi guys,

I am thinkin go buying a 2005/2006 Mercedes. not sure about E Class or C Class..
    Any enguines worth avoiding.

I realise Caveat Emptor, but if there is anything I should be aware of, engines that drink too much, electronics that are not worth the hassle, etc etc..

    thanks

Personally I prefer the E-Class of that era. Around about 2006 was when they got a facelift too so hopefully any electrical issues will be ironed out by then.

The popular engine in Ireland was always the 200 Kompressor but I have heard of those giving trouble with stretching timing chains (maybe someone else can shed some light onto that?). I know the earlier model was available in E240 guise (2.6 V6) and judging by how smooth other Mercedes V6's are of that generation it's the one I'd be having.

I´m based in Madrid.. although I was just going to check the prices over home... The second hand car market is a joke over here, very high prices because the spanish tend to drive their cars to death (and badly)..

I need to sell my own car first though..

    any pics??

this era of merc tend to rust prematurely around body panels but that's hardly an issue in Madrid
