Good show , that life wouldn't be for everyone though . Whether money is tight or they dont go on holidays its great to spend so much time with the kids all the time . Not many kids nowadays grow up like that unfortunately.
I thought the young fella that said his calf" just lay down dead " was ahead of his time !

The lambing was rough, wasn't a great image for sheep farmng

I wonder was he double sucking or why were they tied in ? I felt sorry for herself mucking them out . We had thirty cows like that years ago and there used be alot of barrows shifted every day , pure torture .

He seemed to have a lot of trouble dealing with a single. Maybe the lamb was dead by the time they got to her.

Washing up liquid is supposed to be an irritant internally.......something to do with the scent/perfume they use....why use it when lube is available,

I thought the first few minutes of the programme was going to be a good omen for the rest of it about sheep.

But then it drifted away from sheep and more about his family.

I thought it was very interesting him describing the finer points of the 'perfect sheep' at the start and if it kept going like that it would be a Very good documentary but unfortunately they didn't continue like that.

Watched it there on YouTube. He wasn't painting a rosy picture of farming anyway. Agree with Rangler, the lambing was rough. The non use of a glove wouldn't have helped with the subsequent health of that ewe either.

Just watched it there as well - I didn't think the lambing was that bad, but maybe I was expecting worse after the comments on here.
I thought the dehorning was worse to be honest, but maybe that's cos we don't do it here.

He won some amount of trophies there at the end! Fair play...

Overall - thought it was a great show... Would love to see more like it...

From looking at a lot of these programmes, it seems to me that holding rental is a big thing in the UK. Is that the case? I wonder how they handle big projects like new buildings and facilities?

Did the young boy not go to school?

Great programme though, making farming not as rosy as some programmes make it seem.
