    Hi guys,
Have decided to have 30th wedding anniversary (surprise) for my parents in April. I want to invite about 30 people and keep it low key. Looking for a venue (not too expensive) above a pub or in a hotel maybe, that would serve finger food and some bubbly?
I don't want it a be huge affair by any means but I just want to mark it in a nice way. I'm not earning massive amounts but am willing to spend if I need to. Any ideas? Even if anyone has done something similar and something has worked for them? I Would be really grateful :)
    Thank you.

For 30 people I'd say an area in a pub would be perfect, somewhere that already has some music would keep costs down, but a local pub to your parents (or even somewhere they used to call home where friends are still based) might mean they'd see more people over the course of the evening who I'm sure would be delighted to wish them well. A few platters of food, a cake, and a few balloons would be all you really need.

Drinkwise not everyone likes bubbly so if budget allows maybe just buy everyone a drink of their choice when they arrive, I'm sure they'll be arriving before your parents so welcome them and get them a drink. But if money is tight people won't mind not being bought a drink! Plenty of options depending on your budget. If you have siblings I'd have a chat with them about pooling money together too.

Best of luck, I hope you have a great night!

    Thanks for the reply.
This sounds really good. I hadn't considered buying the drink at the bar, but great idea. I've looked into some pubs in Ballsbridge as they will be staying in Ringsend and it seems really reasonable. My brother, sister and I are definitely going to pool together and try and do as much as we can. Thanks so much, really helpful :)
