splitting apartment in two

An apartment of more than 1200 sq ft split on two floors has a bathroom on each floor in a block of 12 apartments

Would it be possible to split this into two apartments without planning permission or involvement of the management company?

Or into a studio on top and separate apartment below ?

Just wondering the limits of what I can do in renovation here.

Do not make any changes without seeking professional advice regarding the current fire cert.
To change anything you need a fire cert.

If splitting into two units you need planning, fire cert and probably dac, + BER cert for both units

    Planning required.
Then a fire cert and disability access cert.
Then appoint an Assigned Certifier and bring both units up to standard with regards Part L. Ohh and you'll need management company approval. Bottom line = it won't happen in my opinion.
