It is my understanding that an employer requiring garda vetting will also seek police clearance for countries that you have lived in for over 6 months.

If you lived somewhere for more than 6 months in total but not in one stretch of over 6 months will you need clearance? (e.g. - two separate academic terms - Sep - Dec and Feb - June? Home for over a month in between...

Thanks - and if term 1 and term 2 address are both the same? Only an issue because I know that police clearance from that country will involve taking time off work to travel to their embassy in person to submit a form...

From my experience it's once 6 months is spent outside the state (Regardless in a row) you need tolerance. I did Erasmus last year and had similar story, regardless I was told I had to go to the czech embassy for the police form.
