Roland XP-50 data transfer

    Hi,
    I have a Roland XP-50 and am trying to update the userpatches. I have the sysex file and am trying to transfer via patchman but nothing happens...the usb-midi cable doesn't light up when i make the transfer.

    What settings do i need to adjust on my Roland XP-50 does anybody know to receive the file?
    I originally had the midi cable connected the wrong way,but that's fixed now. I can't find a step by step guide anywhere :-(.

    Removed floppy drive to put in a USB emulator which doesn't work (found out that XP-50) so that's why I've to try and to it this way, and it seems so complicated!

    Can't seem to get answers on Roland forums so trying a cry for help here?
