Just see from the link that it mentions the Coolboy area. There's a series of bends north of it as you go towards Kilmacrennan. Not the most pleasant road to cycle on in my experience - lots of very close passing at speed (even when there is nothing coming the other way).

It's an absolutely horrible road to cycle on and I avoid it at all costs. There is no hard shoulder of any sort and barely a ditch if you did need to bail. The accident actually happened right at the Millbridge bar in Kilmacrennan, have no idea what actually happened other than 4 or 5 cyclists were hit from behind by a car. It was members of Errigal CC involved including two juniors who I heard were at the rear and hit first. Thankfully they've all been discharged from hospital and should make full recoveries. The bikes are write offs.

I've cycled on it several times and it wasn't enjoyable. Many years back a friend and I were nearly hit by an out of control Toyota Litace on the drag out of Kilmacrennan towards Letterkenny. The driver was speeding and lost control going from one ditch to the other narrowly missing us. It was a scorcher of a day and Glenveagh National Park had just opened and Bernard Hinault was the man of the moment! - early to mid 1980's I presume.

How the hell no one was killed is beyond belief. Hope they all make a speedy recovery.
