I have a basic Lidl jack for my home diy work. It works ok, but I want to upgrade to a bigger, better one with a long handle.

There are quite a few available; steel, aluminium, fast lift, low profile, 1.5 to 3 tonne capacity etc. so I'm not certain what to choose.

Any recommendations based on experience gladly received, thanks.

Is it just for your own car? What size vehicles?
If it's just for occasional use, this one would be good. It's nice and light and will easily go under most cars.

Yes it's for my car, just a hatchback.
Thanks for the link, although I wouldn't say it's light at 34.5kg!
I suspect most of these are made in the Far East and just branded differently.

Get one designed for lifting 4 x 4s, much higher lift and more sturdy. Usually come with an extra extension to raise up further. I picked one up in b&q, reduced to €45, it's been worth it. Could jack up rear of BMW under diff/sub frame, then put axel stands under jacking points.

Most motor factors will carry decent ones too but you will pay > €150. I'm sure lots of online places sell too.

Draper is ain`t no chinese ****e, one of the best out there, but the one in the link is heavy duty industrial model. You can buy similar design but smaller sized one for diy.
