Just reading it online there now. Apparently 2 lads dressed as fake police came in with AK47's and started firing. One man dead apparently

Jamie Conlan and Jamie Kavanagh are on the card. MGM have some pretty dubious links apparently, someone will no doubt tell me thats out of order to say that.

Crazy stuff. One dead and 2 with non life threatening injuries.

This should be a shock but being honest I wasn't one bit shocked when I heard the news. Mod Snip getting shot, Mod snip Uncle and Dad and now this all in recent times. Fúck Mod Snip for getting involved with this scum. Another PR disaster for the sport.

Mod Snip the plastic paddy can fuk off to England or stay in Spain. He is bad news.

Warning. Please do not drag names through the mud here. Do NOT link any boxers to this feud unless you have evidence.

That 'gym' is a cancer. Any of these fighters choosing to associate themselves with it deserve all they get at this stage.

Seeing fighters proudly wearing their MGM t-shirts and paraphanalia and their logo on ILF videos would make you sick.

They all know whats at the root of it, either they they are thick or they turn and blind eye and don't care.

They love it. That's why they go there. They all know exactly what they're getting into.

Would be great if this was the end of that whole outfit in boxing. Every venue should flat out refuse to deal with them from this point on.

The Christles aren't having much luck. Will the BUI sanction more Mgm bouts, I wonder.

Id say this may spell the end of those Marbella MGM sponsored fights here and they will disappear from the bigger spotlight as its too much bad publicity and the Irish boxing council and rte will distance themselves from it.
I wonder what Roddy Collins will have to say about it on his weekly wrap-up of sport with Ivan on Newstalk on Friday in the good week/bad week segment.

Whatever about the perceived dodginess that surrounds that gym, it's a bit harsh to be wishing misfortune to the fighters. The lack of promotional opportunities and the lack of shows happening over here makes it difficult to source an alternative.I'm not saying there's not an alternative, it's just very hard to sit on a moral high ground when your options are narrow.

True for the lesser known fighters. Not true for the likes of Billie Joe Saunders.

Saunders had Warren as his promoter and manager which is a potential conflict of interest. I wouldn't blame him for changing his management set up.

By which you mean hooking up with a gang of killers and rapists, and profiting from blood money. Yeah sure who could hold that against him.

What I have found staggering is the amount of apologists for the fighters aligning themselves with these scum bags with their reason being "without them our fighters have nowhere else to go".

What in the name of God is Macklin at ?

Hopefully its the end of MGM anyways. Kinda shows how pathetic the pro game has gone in UK and Ireland when people still seem drawn to this outfit despite their very obvious dodgy links.

Better to hook up with this crowd (who treat the lads brilliantly putting them up in their top class facilities in the sun by all accounts) then to have nobody at all.

The strangest thing for me is how Kavanagh is still fighting under the MGM banner.
Although I have to admit I don't know all the facts..... and you wouldn't know what to believe in the papers.

I wouldn't say he is brave/foolish enough to walk away tbh, they clearly have no bother knocking people off.

Will be interesting to see what happens with MGM now, maybe cab can get their hands on it. AFAIK Macklin has moved to the states but I don't know what's happening with his brother.

What do you mean? What power would CAB have over them?
